On Saturday the 12th of June, a small team of 4 Otters swam at the Elgin mini meet which was held at Buckie Leisure Centre. They all swam very well, with medals and PBs being achieved all round. Calum Bowie and Alistair Webster won medals in all 4 strokes, Anna MacCulloch won a silver medal for butterfly and a bronze for frontcrawl, whilst Affric Cooke achieved PBs in all 4 strokes.
Great achievement all round.

On Sunday 13th June Cults Otters and Aberdeen Amateurs went head to head in an exciting swim meet. Swimmers from both teams swam really well, trying to gain points for their team. It was an extremely close match with Cults Otters just winning the trophy by a few points. Aberdeen were also awarded a trophy on the night for 'loudest cheering supporters'.

Well done to all swimmers.

The gala ran very smoothly and all attending admired the new Cults Pool. Thank you to all our hard working supporters who made the gala possible.

Ten Cults Otters headed up to Ellon on Saturday 15th May to swim 100m events at the Ythan Challenge.

Despite the unbearable heat, many of the swimmers achieved PBs and we brought home several medals.

Matthew McClure (14), Kieran Smith (13), Kieren McDonald (15), Harry Bowler (14), Natasha Pitman (13) and Emily Grant (12) all qualified and competed at the Scottish National Age Groups (SNAGS) meet at Tollcross Pool, Glasgow, in April as part of the COAST team.

Congratulations to Kieran, who achieved 7th place in the 800m Free and 1500m Free. COAST finished an excellent 4th in the Best Team competition.

A strong team of JC swimmers showed great performances at the BoD April Showers meet, with lots of new Personal Bests.

Nicholas Cameron (10) and Cameron Arnott (11) both won golds in the 50m backstroke, and Cameron added silvers in the 50m fly and 50m free and bronze in the 50m breaststroke. Natasha Steward (11) took silver in the 50m fly with a 4 second PB and Jennifer Storm (8) took bronze in the 25m breaststroke.

A strong team of Otters JC3s and COAST JP swimmers competed at the Buckie Age Groups meet. Everyone came away with great PBs, and congratulations to Harry Dalgarno who took bronze in the 400m Free.

A small team of Otters Cubs and JC1s swam at the Dolphins Novice Team Challenge at Northfield Pool. There were lots of new Personal Bests, and congratulations to Tomi Harkany who took bronze in the 25m fly, and to Jennifer Storm who took bronze in the 25m breaststroke.

The Otters COAST swimmers had a successful meet at the Westhill Invitational, with a clutch of medals and some excellent PBs.

Matthew McClure (14) and David Sutherland (22) both took silver in the 200m Fly, and Kieren McDonald (15) and Emily Grant (12) both took silver in the 100m back. Matthew McClure went on to win gold in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke and bronze in the 200m IM. Natasha Pitman (13) took bronze in the 200m breaststroke and David Sutherland added bronze in the 400m Free.

Otters went into the top group for the final rounds of the 2009/10 Beta League, having won our first two matches.

Otters swam well against Aberdeen Dolphin on 9th May at Hazlehead, with lots of new PBs and many swimmers swimming through the cut-off times, but despite some close results in each of the four strokes and the relays, we lost the match 10 - 0.

Our last match was against Aberdeen on 16th May at Kincorth, but this time the close results went in our favour and we won the match 6 - 4.

We now have to wait for the final results...

Fourteen swimmers from JC2 & JC3 competed at the Hunting Trophy Meet on Saturday 27th March. They rounded off the term in style with some great performances. Almost every swim was a PB.
